Every week, members of our congregation are serving with groups around Coles County and across the world. We keep our eyes open, always looking for the next way God calls us to serve. Check out our CONNECT Tab to learn more about how you can serve with us.
First Presbyterian Church has a long history of mission involvement. We provide wells in Malawi and anti-malaria nets for mothers and children in Africa. We have also sent mission teams to Mississippi, Baton Rouge, the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance distribution center in Arkansas, St. Louis' AMEN House, and to Camp Carew and Kemmerer Village in Illinois. We also support small-scale, organic farmers across the globe through our use of Equal Exchange coffee at church events.
Many Presbyterian Women activities focus on mission and service. Presbyterian Women give mission funds to support Marion Medical Mission, Church World Service, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Soup Stop, Charleston Area Food Pantry, Coalition for People in Need, Camp Carew, Kemmerer Village, and Habitat for Humanity.
