First Presbyterian Church in Charleston is happy to partner with the Presbyterian Foundation to enable online giving. To make a contribution in this way, please click here.
Things you should know about this new giving method are:
• You may give using a major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) or by electronic transfer from your checking or savings account.
• Gifts may be one-time or at a selected frequency.
• You will be offered the option to set up an account but that is not required.
• All gifts are subject to a 2% fee that is used by the Foundation to pay the expenses of the program, so that our church will receive 2% less than what you give. Please bear this in mind as you make your gift. There is a box you can click to add 2% to your gift to cover this fee on the “Donation Information” page, or you can start with a 2% larger amount.
• Donated funds are transferred to the church only once per month, at the beginning of the month. Please try to make your gift by the 25th of the month if you wish it to be transferred at the beginning of the next month; gifts that are given later in the month than that may not be received by the church for more than a month.
• Currently there are three funds set up for designation of your giving: the Charleston Hunger Hike, our church's General Fund, and our church's Accessibility (Elevator) Building Fund. If you wish to designate your gift to another purpose, please add a note to that effect in the "Notes" box on the "Donation Information" page when you get there.
• You will receive a receipt by email shortly after making your gift and an annual statement of giving from the Presbyterian Foundation. Additionally, for church members, your gift will appear in your quarterly statement of giving.
• You can also access your online giving account using a smartphone app: “GivePlus Church”, which can be downloaded from Google Play or the (Apple) App Store.
