Connect
We know what God is doing at First Presbyterian Church is special. And we want you to be a part in it. There are many ways to connect with the people you go to church with and build relationships and community. Here are some ways to connect with others.
Our Adult Choir is always open for new members. They rehearse on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and sing regularly on Sunday mornings.
Presbyterian Women meet monthly for Bible study and fellowship. Circles meet for Bible study on the second Tuesday morning (10:00 a.m.) and third Tuesday evening (7:00 p.m.) each month between September and May.
The church provides full scholarships to all children and youth attending Camp Carew, our PC(USA) camp located near Carbondale, IL.
The Ladies' Spring Luncheon is enjoyed by all women. The annual luncheon is planned around a different theme, such as music, teaching, reading, or cooking.
The Harvest Dinner is a wonderful, festive meal shared by our church family and hosted by Presbyterian Women. It occurs on the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving week.
Our email Prayer Chain is open to all who want to provide their prayerful support to those in need.
Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the last Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Each shawl is dedicated during a Sunday service and may be given away to someone in need of prayer.
Each summer, members from our church participate in a mission trip. We have sent mission teams to Mississippi, Baton Rouge, the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance distribution center in Arkansas, St. Louis' AMEN House, Camp Carew, and Kemmerer Village.

Looking to add some depth to your faith? Our adult education provides a safe space to learn more about the Bible, Christian tradition, and our contemporary world. We vary our topics to include everything from Bible studies to contemporary events. The Adult Sunday School meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Short-term studies occur periodically through the year at times other than Sunday morning.
