There are many opportunities to connect with others the the First Presbyterian church in Charleston.

Our church is active in many community and mission projects:
- Soup Stop host site, providing free lunch weekdays
- Alternative Gift Market sponsor each autumn
- Funding and volunteers for the Coalition for People in Need (CPN). This church-founded organization helps people in need of emergncy help with utility bills, prescription drugs. They provide vouchers for food and gasoline.
- Crop Walk participation
- Support of the Charleston Food Pantry
- 2 Cent Offering Monthly for for hunger relief locally and worldwide
- Local, regional, national and international mission projects
- Our Deacons care for the needs of others in our congregation
