Session

The Session consists of the co-pastors and 12 elders in active service, who are arranged in three classes of four members each.  The session is responsible for the mission and government of a particular church.  It serves as the governing body of the local congregation and all committees and boards are accountable to it for their work.

Committees

Building and Grounds Committee - is responsible for the maintenance of the congregation’s physical facilities.  They oversee routine maintenance and plan for long-term care of the building and grounds.

Christian Education Committee - is responsible for the education programs of the church, including the Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.  They oversee teacher recruitment and the furnishing of materials and curriculum for children, youth, and adults so that people grow in their  understanding of the Bible, Presbyterian tradition, and Christian faith as they relate to the world in which we live.

Outreach, Fellowship & Mission Committee - is responsible to the session for the outreach of the church, for planned fellowship events, and for mission education and promotion.  These include social fellowship such as coffee hour, tailgate parties, progressive suppers, and other events that help people connect to one another as they deepen their connection to God.  They also promote the churchwide offerings of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and encourage support of special mission projects and offerings.

Personnel and Administration Committee - provides a support and accountability group for the pastor and other staff members in times of triumph or trouble, in dealing with problems, personal or professional, and in the urgent but often-overlooked province of keeping the pastor and members of the staff from feeling isolated. They also prepare and update position descriptions and insure that compensation and performance reviews are conducted for all employed staff.

Stewardship and Finance Committee - is responsible for holding before the congregation the New Testament concept of Christian stewardship, coordinating the development and funding of an annual operating budget, and monitoring the congregation’s income and expenses throughout the year.

Worship Committee - collaborates with the co-pastors in planning services of worship and facilitating special services during Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Holy Week.  It prepares the Communion Table for the Lord’s Supper and is responsible for paraments, banners, flowers, and other elements that enhance our worship space.  It oversees the church nursery and schedules the cleaning or tuning of pianos and the organ.
